WHAT’S INSIDE A NATURE MAIL BOX?

Each month a new box is released with a nature inspired theme. Inside every box you'll find:

Four nature play activities with an instruction card and all the key resources you’ll need (sometimes you will need to go forage for some leaves, bark or dirt!)
One packet of Earth friendly, spray free seeds to plant in the garden
One children’s meditation script to support healthy nervous systems

HOW DOES NATURE MAIL DIFFER FROM IN PERSON CLASSES?

At our in person classes, there is a magical community element that just cannot be boxed up and posted to you! We start and finish in circle, and take the children on a guided journey from slow mindful activities through to busy and messy activities, before winding back down again.

WHAT AGES IS NATURE MAIL SUITED TO?

Nature Mail is designed with children aged 3-9yrs in mind. In saying that, we firmly believe that every child can benefit from nature play. Children will engage in activities differently, depending on their stage of development and personality. Typically, children under 3yrs will not be ready to grasp some of the concepts included in Nature Mail (although they often surprise us), and are more susceptible to choking on small parts. For this reason we suggest 3yrs+, but you know your child best!

DO THE ACTIVITIES REQUIRE ME TO FACILITATE OR GUIDE?

Every activity comes with a little card that explains the activity. Depending on the age of your child, generally activities require a little explanation and set-up and then children can lead themselves through an activity. Sometimes activities will require fine motor skills like tying a knot or cutting with scissors. It can be a beautiful opportunity for children to practice these skills themselves, but may at times need some support.

WILL ALL RESOURCES REQUIRED FOR AN ACTIVITY BE INCLUDED IN EACH BOX?

Mostly, yes! Sometimes part of the activity will be to go and find something in nature like a pretty leaf. Those won’t be included; that would ruin the fun! You also might need something like scissors or a bit of tape. It’s not very Earth friendly to include a new pair of scissors every time they are required! So for common household items we will usually assume you can source these yourself.

WILL ONE BOX BE ENOUGH IF I HAVE MULTIPLE CHILDREN?

The resources included for each activity consider families with multiple children. One box per family will be enough. Some activities have resources that will run out such as dried flowers for a craft activity. Other activities include a single item designed to last forever like a wooden puzzle or a handmade paintbrush. There will only be one of those included with the intention that families with multiple children will practice their sharing skills!

IS THERE A LOT OF MESS TO CLEAN UP?

How long is a piece of string? A lot of activities are surprisingly low resource and low mess. But I have seen children make an almighty mess out of very little. We recommend finding a space at home you are happy for mess to be made, and then letting your child take the activity wherever they’d like to! Uninterrupted, child lead play is so beneficial for their confidence and self-trust, it just might be worth the risk of a messy house!

ARE THE CONTENTS EARTH FRIENDLY?

Integrity is our number 1 value as a business, which means we can't guide children on how to love and care for Mother Nature without loving and caring for Her ourselves. All resources enclosed have been sourced with the health of the planet at the forefront. We make most of the box contents ourselves, or source locally wherever possible. We strive to be 100% plastic free in our resourcing (however this can at times be near impossible sadly!). All of our packaging is either compostable, recycled/recyclable or better yet, reusable! We use acid-free, soy-based inks for printing on recycled paper!

WHO DESIGNS THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED?

All activities are designed by The Wild Exchange Founder, Jaimie. With over a decade of experience as a psychotherapist and ecotherapist predominantly working with children, meeting particular social/emotional objectives through guided play-based activities is where she is most in her genius!

DO NATURE MAIL BOXES CONTAIN ALLERGENS OR CHOKING HAZARDS?

Sometimes Nature Mail will include dried flowers, herb based Earth paints, glues, clays, or small parts like gumnuts. If your child is in the habit of putting everything in their mouth, Nature Mail may not be quite right. All activities should always be supervised for young children.

CAN I JUST PURCHASE A ONE-OFF BOX?

You can cancel your subscription after just one box, but you won't want to! When signing up on a monthly subscription with Nature Mail, you are entering into a subscription agreement which means you will be automatically charged every month unless you cancel or pause your subscription at least 24hrs prior to your renewal date. That being said, you can cancel anytime with ease! We will soon be adding a store that you can purchase one off boxes through.

IF I SUBSCRIBE TODAY WHICH BOX WILL I RECEIVE?

On the 1st of every month, a new box with a new theme and four new activities will be released. Your first box will be the box for the month that you sign up. Occasionally the box of the month will sell out in which case pre-order for the following month’s box will open. You will receive your

WHEN WILL OUR NATURE MAIL ARRIVE?

After subscribing, your order will be dispatched on the following Monday or Thursday excluding public holidays. You should have it within 7-10 days of your billing date! We all remember the excitement of receiving mail as a kid, but with so many things online these days, our children rarely (if ever) get to experience that joy! HOW DO I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?

When subscribing to Nature Mail, you would have set-up a log in using your email and a password. In the corner of our website you will see a little login button. Login using your credentials and you can easily manage your subscription yourself! Cancellations must be made at least 24hrs prior to billing renewal. Alternatively, you can email us at hello@thewildexchange.com at least 7 days prior to your renewal date and we can cancel your subscription for you.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY ADDRESS OR PAYMENT DETAILS FOR MY SUBSCRIPTION?

It’s important to update your address at least 7 days prior to subscription renewal to ensure it doesn’t get sent to your old address.

CAN I USE NATURE MAIL TO RUN MY OWN IN PERSON CLASSES?

We believe there is no such thing as too many people running nature play for kids! If you facilitate your own group and would like to use some of our activities, please go ahead! Just as we hold integrity in all that we do at The Wild Exchange, we expect the same courtesy in return by crediting us for our intellectual property.

CAN I BECOME AN AFFILIATE FOR THE WILD EXCHANGE/NATURE MAIL?

If you are interested in becoming an affiliate, please reach out! We do have an intimate and intentional affiliate program that you may be suitable for. We are interested in authentic and meaningful relationships only. Our affiliates are all Mothers of young children who value meaningful nature based play activities that they can do together with their children. In exchange for our products, affiliates generate content each month and share with their online community. Affiliates also receive a special discount code for their audience.
